Webinar: Exploring the Intersection of Spirituality and Medicine in Serious Illness Care During COVID-19
Date: Wednesday, May 20 Time: 12 - 1 PM ET
Presented by:
Meeting the complex needs of those facing serious illness requires multiple disciplines to work together to provide compassionate care. With its focus on understanding people and their values, Advance Care Planning provides an opportunity for medical and spiritual care professionals to work together to better serve patients facing serious illness and their important people. As we live through a time of increased stress and uncertainty amid the continued spread of COVID-19, it is now more important than ever for these needs to be addressed. To begin with, medical professionals and faith leaders must understand one another in order to ensure that people with serious illness feel known and cared for on their own terms. This dialogue will help Spiritual leaders and Medical professionals understand each others’ roles and how they affect the lives of those they serve. This webinar will feature expert voices from faith communities and the medical profession discussing how the two fields can collaborate to provide high-quality, person-centered serious illness care.
