CALL CHAPCA TO DONATE

If you’ve ever experienced the compassionate and excellent care of a hospice or palliative team, you understand the powerful impact it can have for both patients and their loved ones during a difficult time.

Serious illness changes everything. The changes can come in waves–some hitting immediately, and some rolling over us more slowly. When the waves come, patients and their loved ones seek the right mix of care, nurturing, and dignity delivered with compassion. Compassion takes many forms. It’s the caring physician, the nurse at the bedside or the volunteer who sits quietly in companionship. The team is devoted to your loved one’s comfort and offers support and guidance to patients and their loved ones. This is what hospice and palliative care is and because serious illness knows no time, the compassion that comes with hospice or palliative care happens when it’s needed, whether in the middle of the night or in the early hours of the morning.

The California Hospice and Palliative Care Association (CHAPCA) provides education, tools, resources and consultation services for patients and their loved ones free of charge. CHAPCA will guide patients and their loved ones with compassion and provide information to make informed decisions on serious illness.

Your donations will help CHAPCA continue supporting patients, their loved ones and hospice and palliative care team members so they can help patients and their loved ones in their care—regardless of their ability to pay—live their remaining days fully, in dignity, comfort and peace, and in accordance with their wishes and beliefs. It also assures that patients’ loved ones and many others from the broader community receive the bereavement care they need.

Through the generosity of donors, CHAPCA is able to offer a full slate of consultative services to benefit patients and their loved ones.

There are several ways you can help to improve access to quality hospice and palliative care services through research, education and public awareness.

  • Education

Donations enable CHAPCA to provide ongoing education and training opportunities to help providers stay abreast of medical advances, treatment protocols, practice and regulations so they can offer the highest quality hospice and palliative care.

  • Advocacy

Working with CHAPCA as an advocate strengthens our voice with policymakers to ensure that our members can continue to deliver high-quality hospice and palliative care to the communities they serve.

  • Volunteering

The practical, physical, emotional, spiritual and social support delivered by volunteers to support the clinical staff is an essential component of hospice. Without volunteers, we would be not be able to provide many much-needed services.

There are a variety of ways you can donate to CHAPCA and make a difference.

Memorial or Tribute Gifts

Making a donation in memory of a loved one—or honoring a friend, family member, colleague or special occasion with a tribute gift given in their name—is an excellent way to support the work of CHAPCA.

Monthly, Quarterly or Annual Gifts

Donations are welcome anytime and are vital to sustaining CHAPCA ongoing education, tools, resources and consultation services our community has come to expect of CHAPCA. You can also set up recurring gifts.

Bequest and Planned Giving

Planned giving enables us to leave some kind of lasting legacy to show that our lives have made a difference in our community, that in some way we have contributed to an important work or cause that will benefit the lives of others for generations to come.

Those are a few ways to donate to help CHAPCA support patients and their loved ones with the compassion and respect they deserve when faced with life-limiting illness and end-of-life needs.
